what are your six-words?

I’m a big fan of NPR … National Public Radio.  I consider time spent listening to NPR is my time to become enlightened, educated and entertained (not always in that order).  Today was no exception.

I caught a portion of Rebecca Roberts segment Talk of the Nation where she was interviewing Larry Smith, founding editor, and Rachel Fershieiser, memoir editor, of Smith Magazine.  Smith Magazine challenged readers to condense their life stories using exactly six words.  Based on a notion of Ernest Hemingway being challenged with the same, Hemingway wrote: For Sale: baby shoes never worn.  A six-word memoir!

Interesting … quickly I came up with one … wife of one, mother of two.  Or, as my new blog banner says: to smile, to create, to thrive.  The show continued with Roberts taking a few called-in six-word memoirs.  Responses were:  Give in, Gave Up, Gave Out … Left, Right, Hey Where’s the Middle … or my favorite … Bachelor Party, YouTube Video, Cancelled Wedding.  The idea is to define yourself, in six words, it’s your point of view.  What to hear the whole interview?
